Industrial IoT
Trusted edge devices
Gateways and controllers prove their identity before they can join the network.
Hardware Digital Signature Storage
Digital ID • Function Control Key • Dual-Layer Key Protection
X-PHY TrustSign SD, microSD and USB storage carry a protected identity inside the hardware. A unique Key string, encrypted by Crypto Codec (HDS) and stored in a scrambled Hidden Area, lets IoT systems verify each device and unlock only the functions it is licensed for.
Problem
Edge devices often join a network with nothing that proves who they are, so a cloned or rogue unit can pass as a trusted one.
Problem
License keys kept in software or plain files can be copied to unlicensed machines.
Problem
Without a physical authorization key, premium or restricted functions can be enabled by anyone with access to the equipment.
Problem
Security keys sent in the clear between host and card can be captured and replayed.
Problem
A misplaced USB drive exposes every stored file to whoever picks it up.
Key Advantages
Identity and authorization built into the storage hardware
Every card carries its own identity, so genuine devices are recognized on your IoT network and cloned units are turned away.
Use the card as a license key for specific software, or as an authorized key that activates and regulates appliance functions.
Each Key string is encrypted with proprietary Crypto Codec (HDS) on the SD bus, then scrambled and stored in a reserved Hidden Area on the card.
TrustSign USB masks the entire drive through the X-PHY application. Stored data opens only after the legitimate user enters the correct password.
Built on SLC, 3D pSLC and MLC flash with MTBF above 3,000,000 hours. The security function does not change the standard product specification.
Security Architecture
How a device’s identity travels from the card to the system that authorizes it.

The TrustSign Series
Three form factors, one approach: the security function sits alongside standard industrial storage.
Compliant with SD 6.1 on 3D pSLC flash. Serves as a Digital Signature for IoT and as a licensed or authorized key in function control systems.
Compliant with SD 3.0 on SLC flash, with Commercial, Gold and Diamond temperature grades for Digital ID and function control deployments.
Compliant with USB 2.0 on MLC flash. Mask the entire drive with the X-PHY application so stored data is only accessible after password authentication.
How It Works
The TrustSign journey comes down to four steps. The full workflow for each form factor is available below.
The Key Manager assigns a unique Key string to each specified device.
Crypto Codec (HDS) encrypts the key and the card stores it in its scrambled Hidden Area.
Install the card in the IoT device, controller or appliance and use it as normal storage.
The edge processor reads the key and the Security Key management system grants access.
SD and microSD cards follow the Digital Signature workflow. The USB drive uses password masking. Scroll sideways on smaller screens.
Core Capabilities
Storage-level features from the TrustSign datasheets that keep data reliable in demanding deployments.
Built-in data crypto support for information written to the card.
SD · microSD
Refreshes stored data automatically to help preserve integrity over long deployments.
SD · microSD
Keeps frequently read data reliable by managing the effects of repeated reads.
SD · microSD · USB
Spreads writes evenly across the flash to extend usable life.
SD · microSD · USB
Protects stored data when power drops unexpectedly in the field.
SD · microSD · USB
Stronger error correction with high random 4KB IOPS for dependable daily use.

Use Case

Industrial IoT
Gateways and controllers prove their identity before they can join the network.

Software Licensing
Tie a software license to a physical card so it cannot be copied to another machine.

Appliance Control
Enable specific appliance features only when an authorized TrustSign key is present.

Portable Data
Keep valuable data masked on a USB drive until the right password is entered.
Ideal for OEMs and system integrators that need device authentication, license enforcement, or controlled access to data on removable storage.
