While at Black Hat USA, our CEO Camellia Chan met with Pulitzer Prize Winning journalist Byron Acohido from The Last Watchdog to speak about how our X-PHY technology is reshaping the cybersecurity landscape.
Camellia spoke with Byron about why and how our approach represents a fresh take on traditional software-centric security protocols, leveraging security-hardened AI to close the gap by scrutinizing read-write activities meticulously at the memory storage level. Critically, the X-PHY is a dynamic security solution, which has long been lacking at the physical layer. It shifts the stance of protection from a reactive to a proactive one, while removing the need for human intervention.
A seasoned cybersecurity thought leader and journalist, Byron was pleasantly surprised by our novel approach to levelling the ground against cybercriminals.
Flexxon’s X-PHY hardened SSDs provide hardware-level cybersecurity by monitoring read and write activity directly at the storage layer. Embedded AI detects suspicious data behaviour and responds autonomously, helping block ransomware, unauthorised access, and other threats even if software-based defences are compromised. This creates a proactive last line of defence close to where sensitive data is stored.
Hardware-level security solutions are becoming increasingly important as attackers evolve faster than traditional defenses can respond. By operating directly at the storage layer, X-PHY adds an additional safeguard where threats are detected closer to the data itself.
